KATI THANDA - LAKE EYRE
Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre is the first in a series of publications by The Light Collective exploring modern and progressive interpretations of the Australia’s unique and arresting wild places. Within its 128 pages you are presented with a sensual and striking visual narrative of interpretive aerial imagery from one of the most alluring regions of the Australian interior – Lake Eyre.
When you take to the air its true complexity, variety and immensity is breathtakingly revealed. Salt deposits, eroded channels and inlets, layers of sediment and algal blooms provide endlessly subtle variations of texture, lines, pattern and colour.

SYDNEY ROCK POOLS
I have been photographing rock pools since I came to Sydney in 2008 but it’s only since February 2013 that I set myself a project to photograph every ocean pool in Sydney and publish a book.
Sydney\'s coastline and harbor has a series of beautiful rock pools that have been cut into the base of cliffs and rocky headlands. Nearly every Sydney beach has one ocean pool which is usually located at the southern end, to give swimmers some protection when the southerly winds bring cold air and big seas. Some were built by wealthy people in the 1800s, others by convicts. They come in all sizes and shapes and each one has its own colourful history and interesting anecdotes.
My passion for both swimming and photography was the catalyst for this project. When I was young I was a swimmer in a small local swimming club in Spain and when I came to Sydney I had not swam seriously for 20 years. In October 2009, I settled at Dee Why beach and loved the sound and the smell of the ocean, the breaking waves and the Australian beach culture. I soon discovered that Australia is the most swimming-crazy country in the world... and I became crazy about it too!

RED HOT WEST: KARIJINI
Karijini National Park in Western Australia is one of the largest and most photogenic national parks in Australia. The park is famous for its sheer gorges, waterfalls, sparkling rock pools and cool swimming holes.
I joined Peter Eastway, Christian Fletcher and Tony Hewitt and in just one trip to the park I was lucky to find good light and capture great pictures to make my first photographic exhibition in Australia and my first book.
The book includes photographs of Oxer lookout, Dales gorge, Hancock gorge, Kalamina gorge, Knox gorge, Mt Bruce, Weano gorge, and some internationally awarded photographs, including Hamersley gorge waterfall.
This area of Australia together with the Kimberley is one of the most special places I have ever seen in my travels.
